SANTA CLARA – One of the NFL’s most picturesque and raucous stadiums awaits the 49ers and their loyal caravan of fans Monday night in Minnesota. The 49ers (5-1) have lost six straight visits, and they have not won a road game over the Vikings since 1992 with Steve Young (and Amp Lee’s two touchdowns). Goldberg: In Gaza, piling horror upon horror, atrocities upon atrocities

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 19:41:29 GMT

Watching from afar as people race toward an abyss, I find it hard to know what to write except “no,” over and over. In the face of massacres that for Jews around the world brought back memories of genocide, the language of some Israeli leaders has, in turn, become murderous. On the cusp of a likely ground invasion of Gaza, many people I’ve spoken to, Jewish and Palestinian alike, are terrified that this rhetoric will become reality.Isaac Herzog, Israel’s president, said that the “entire nation” of Gaza was “responsible” for the attacks at a news conference on Friday, telling reporters, “It is not true, this rhetoric about civilians not being aware, not involved.” Herzog later clarified that civilians are not legitimate targets, but his words, coming from a member of Israel’s center-left Labor Party, were still chilling, suggesting a broad political consensus that Gazans are collectively to blame for the horror that befell Israel. “All gloves are off,” Ron Prosor, a distinguished Isr...

CNBC: aumentan las remesas a México, pero el “superpeso” reduce el poder adquisitivo

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 19:41:29 GMT

TURIN, Italy (AP) — In his first public words since being implicated in a betting scandal, Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli has apologized for a “naïve error” but also hit out at newspapers for writing what he called was “rubbish.”The statement, across two Instagram stories posted on Wednesday, came the day after Fagioli was banned for seven months by the Italian soccer federation for betting violations, and ordered to undergo treatment for a gambling addiction.“I thought I would start by apologizing not only to Juventus fans but to all fans in the world of soccer and sport for the naive error that I made,” Fagioli wrote. “But instead I am obliged to start with the rubbish that newspapers write about me just to put me in a bad light with thousands of falsehoods…or maybe better, just to get a couple more views. I will speak soon.”His suspension was reduced from the minimum of three years after he admitted betting on soccer matches — but never those involving his team — and ca...

DENVER (KDVR) — There is no such thing as silly superstitions or taking your favorite sports team too seriously. Compared to a lot of other Americans, you are not taking your team seriously enough. A new study shows that a shocking number of sports fans would do anything for love -- that is for the love of the game. Remembering Broncos superfan and ‘Mile High Monster’ Kerry Green The Harris Poll, on behalf of Vivid Seats, conducted an online survey asking over 2,000 people, 18 years or older what makes someone a true sports fan.Fans would choose sports over loveForty-five percent of Americans said that a romantic relationship is more likely to last if both partners are fans of the same sports team.
